James Murphy was recently on Theft Of The Dial, a radio show on 89.3 The Current in Minneapolis and basically talked shit and played 5 songs the whole length of the 60 minute show. If you appreciate the sharp wit perfectly blended with overt stupidity as heard on the LCD albums, you should take a listen. Makes you wanna hang out with the guy all the time!

Phoenix Video Diary - Musicvision - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

One of my favorite bands ever, Phoenix, recently released a video diary of the making of their last album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. There are 2 videos for each song, one with commentary by the band and the other with commentary by Phillipe Zdar, of the legendary French band Cassius, who Co-Produced the album. Definitely worth watching every one. So inspiring!

Introducing The Wonderful Sound Of Induce! This is the official first listen of "Her & I" taken from my new album entitled "Halfway Between Me And You," coming in early 2011. The album version is a funky cut of Future Soul, complete with Prince-like chicken scratch guitars, played by Miami's own Andrew "Le Spam" Yeomanson, and the classic Linn Drum funk sound. The OG version is the original take of minimal boogie, a perfect mixture of the clap of Zapp and a dash of Slave.

My First Interstate Train Adventure!

Last weekend I took my first ever train ride and it was sooo great! I caught the Coast Starlight from Seattle to Portland and it was one of the most beautiful and scenic trips I've ever taken. Even with the gray skies, the landscape and misty cloud cover more than made up for the rain. I highly recommend the trip and i'll remember it forever.

The Beautiful Bilal

Bilal, the best-known unknown voice on many of our favorite records has a new album out after years of wait. One song in particular that I've had on repeat for the last couple days is called "Think It Over." Somehow this song has done something to me few songs have, something that since I was very young, I've always listened and looked for in music and film, which is to somehow perfectly mirror my own emotions and experiences. That's why this song is so special to me.

What Matters Most: Moving Images

I've recently been put on to a very exciting new Director & Cinematographer team going under the name What Matters Most. Kahlil Joseph (Director) and Matthew J. Lloyd (Cinematographer) have crafted two of the most beautiful new music videos I have seen in years. Not since Michel Gondry, Chris Cunningham, and the like ruled the world a few years back has watching music videos been this exciting (or maybe I just don't remember).

The first is the new video for Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra entitled "Cheeba," featuring Bilal and this video left me longing for the rest of the story. 5 Minutes isn't enough!

Their second video is the new Aloe Blacc single entitled "I Need A Dollar," which has been picked up to be used as the theme music for the opening credits of HBO's new show "How To Make It In America." Not only does the video excite me, but hearing Aloe's progression over the years makes me wonder how nice the future will sound. Soul music has returned!

I got to catch Questlove, of the legendary Roots crew do a "private" DJ set for about 25 people during Winter Music Conference. Amongst such bangers as Onyx's dark-as-death "Last Days" and unheard Dilla joints, he slipped in a track from the ever enigmatic D'Angelo that I had never heard before and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It sounded like a Jay Dee joint, much like Voodoo, but even more Dilla-esque.

What's weird is that I had just been on a D'Angelo trip about 2 weeks prior where I found out about the latest leaked track entitled "1000 Deaths" and hearing Questo tease me with this new joint has only extended my obsession!

So until James River comes out (will it ever?), I will leave you with these gems.
